Samara Lihal
Samara is our main protagonist who is taking up medicine at Hugyaw College. Her family are generational protectors of Hugyaw since and before colonizers have had appeared on the mainland. It is up to her now to figure out how she’ll protect Hugyaw and it’s glory.
Hina
One of Lihal’s fairy companions who protect the forest on her family’s land. Hina has an older sister named Diwa who holds a very serious demeanor.
Diwa
Diwa is Hina’s serious older sister. She and Diwa are Samara’s confidants and the protectors of the forests while Samara goes on her mundane life as a student.
Adira Sarip
Adira is Samara’s best friend since childhood. A bubbly girl who is not afraid to speak her mind about her community and has a love for certain Korean pop groups. Her family owns the Sarip Strip Mall, a mall that has shaped the community for almost 30 years with goods not easily found in the area. She and Noora are maternal cousins.
Noora Kareem
Noora is Adira’s cousin from Riyadh. She is quiet, reserved, and very patient even with Adira’s high energy. She moved to Hugyaw when she was only 15 years old with her mother after her father’s passing. Samara and Noora grew close as friends after they bonded over classic Filipino romantic comedies. Noora is engaged to a boy her age who is currently studying in Manila.
